Infant Massage Classes

"The importance of nurturing touch as well as a secure, loving environment is well documented in it aids in the healthy growth and maturation of children."

Infant Massage has been a part of many cultures for centuries, and offers benefits for the infant, parents/caregivers, their family and more. By joining a group or scheduling a private class you can gain access to the benefits and instruction on the specific strokes of Infant Massage as developed by Vimala McClure, the founder of the International Association of Infant Massage (Sweden), parent organization of Infant Massage USA.

Infant Massage has many benefits, including: improving infant sleep, breathing, digestion, circulation and more. In addition, parents and caregivers may also gain increased comfort and confidence in their parenting and care giving ability. Involving older children in the massage of the infant can increase sibling bonding and contentment.

Infant Massage is suitable for a parent/caregiver and children under the age of 1 year.  During the course, adaptation suggestions will be made for continuing the massage as the child grows, in addition to discussions on the numerous benefits of massage and nurturing touch, as well as recognizing your infant's cue, reflexes and behavioral states. Group Classes may also serve as support for the parents/caregivers to discuss current issues, joys, fears, and achievements.
